For those who don't know, the Giro d'Italia was established in 1909 on the idea of sports journalist Tullo Morgagni and since then it has always taken place on an annual basis, except for some interruptions due to world conflicts. The race has been organized, since its inception, by the sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport . In homage to the pink color of the newspaper comes the shade of the "pink shirt" worn by the winner and the designation of the final stage of the competition which is generally held in Milan, the main headquarters of the newspaper.
The 2019 Giro will start on May 11, 2019 from Bologna and will end on June 2. The race is divided into 21 total stages which will touch the entire peninsula for a total of approximately 3518.5 km and an average of 168 km per single stage.
This year too, the tour represents one of the most important stage races on the calendar and the International Cycling Union has included it in the UCI World Tour together with other international races such as, for example, the Tour of France and the Vuelta of Spain.
Participating in the Giro d'Italia 2019 allows us to bring our flowers to the podium of all the cities touched by the sporting event. In fact, at each stage of the tour we will deliver a bouquet of Faxiflora flowers to the winner of the stage. A very important moment of celebration because it allows us to underline how flowers can give meaning to different celebrations. From personal anniversaries to sporting victories. Our collaboration with the world of cycling has allowed us to reward the winners of some important stage races:
- Strade Bianche
- Tyrrhenian Adriatic
- Milan-Sanremo
- Tour of Sicily
